SPARKcon has arrived in downtown Raleigh!

Come out and enjoy the FREE festivities in downtown Raleigh this weekend at SPARKcon 2011. In it’s fifth year, SPARKcon is a grassroots festival and creative conference which aims to “ignite the creative hub of the south.”

Last year Kaci Torres, North Carolina’s very own “PBR Fairy,” co-founded circusSPARK hoping to unite local performers, grow the circus community and inspire alternative forms of creative expression. This year circusSPARK has relocated to the Martin Street and promises to be even bigger and better than its inaugural year.

Pabst Blue Ribbon is a proud supporter of SPARKcon and has supported several fund raising events for circusSPARK as well as artSPARK and musicSPARK.

There will be a lot of SPARKcon venues offering some great PBR specials and hosting some really amazing events this weekend. Make sure to check out King’s Barcade on Thursday night for the SPARK after DARK event which will shocase erotic poetry and burlesque performance by some or the Triangle’s hottest performers and poets. The Berkeley cafe will host SPARKcon’s first stand up comedy event on Thursday and Morning Times will host another on Sunday. There will be tons of free shows hosted by musicSPARK on Friday night at Southland Ballroom, King’s and The Pourhouse. Don’t miss the official SPARKcon after party at The Lincoln Theatre Saturday night!

For more info about our favorite SPARK visit the circusSPARK website and check out the schedule of events.
