Pinups for Pit Bulls is a great organization that works to educate the public about the history and temperament of the American Pit Bull Terrier and Bully Breeds, to raise awareness about Breed Specific Legislation and Breed-Specific abuse, and to raise funds for bully-breed-friendly rescues and dogs in need. The group’s goal is to reestablish the defamed reputation of the Pit Bull as America’s premier companion animal, war hero, and therapy dog. Their biggest fundraiser is their annual wall calendar, a copy of which is currently hanging in my kitchen – They recreate traditional 1950s-style pinup and incorporate a Pitbull into every shot. It’s adorable!
Some of the models, including the organization’s founder, Little Darling (one of my personal heroes), will be hosting a “Bully” party at Graveyard Tavern in the Basement. Proceeds will benefit Pinups for Pitbulls AND the Atlanta Bully Rescue on Friday August 12th 2011.
There will be raffles, live bands, merchandise, a photo booth and more!
