The Fourth Annual Haunted Hillsborough Hike will kick off this Saturday. So whenever you feel like leaving the house, join the festivities and ask for Pabst.
In 2007, thousands of NCSU students and Raleighites celebrated Halloween on Hillsborough Street during the first organized Haunted Hillsborough Hike. This hike occurred in addition to the traditional end of semester hikes; its organization was partially motivated as a NCSU response to the large annual Halloween celebration on rival UNC Chapel Hill’s Franklin Street.
In case you aren’t from Raleigh, a “hike” is thousands of people imbibing together at select businesses on Hillsborough Street closest to NC State’s campus. You start at one end of Hillsborough Street, on the west-side at Farmhouse or the east-side at Player’s Retreat, and work your way to the other end. You (and your entourage of 20+) will stop along the way at various businesses to enjoy a drink (we recommend an ice cold PBR). Participants generally hit 5-10 bars (including the bowling alley!) and attempt to consume alcoholic beverages at each location.
Please enjoy this Raleigh tradition responsibly!!
