The dog days of summer have taken on a whole new meaning, thanks to the Universal Joint Bar in West Asheville. THe Haywood road establishment is hosting “PBR for Pups” from 4-9 p.m. Saturday, June 26. Proceeds from sales of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer that night will benefit Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, a local pet advocacy group. “PBR for Pups” logo t-shirts and hats will also be on sale, along with raffle tickets for prizes donated by regional businesses. For those who choose to order different drinks or who wish to make an additional gift to Brother Wolf, can make additional donations.
PBR for Pups is the brainchild of Universal Joint employee Jason Allison and fellow animal lover Amanda Struse who established the creative fundraiser at a favorite watering hole in Georgia, when a friend’s pets were in need. “We put on five events in Atlanta, but this will be the first one here in Asheville!”
Pabst Blue Ribbon is on board for the Asheville event. PBR is donating hats, t-shirts, beer and raffle items.
